Day 1 Nanjing
Local escort will meet you at your hotel in the morning. Then your day trip begins. Today you will visit the following attractions:
- Linggu Temple (Soul Valley): This historical scenic spot has Linggu Temple and Pagoda, Beamless Hall, etc., and a public cemetery of fallen soldiers. Linggu Temple keeps the parietal relics of Monk Xuangzang. The name of Beamless Hall is from its special structure, there isn’t even one piece of wood or beam. The altar before Tan Yankai’s tomb is an original relic of Yuanmingyuan Garden.
- Jiming Temple : Jiming Temple is initially built by Emperor Liang Wu Di right by the Taicheng city, with the former name of Tongtai temple. The temple was ruined and rebuilt in successive dynasties, and became the famous scenic spot of the Millennium. The senior Pharmacist Buddhist Tower that rebuilt in 1990 is the special scenery of the temple, with seven floors, eight surfaces and the height of 44.8 meters
- Qixia Mountain and Temple Qixia Mountain: With another name of Sheshan Mountain, Qixia Mountain is situated 22 kilometers northeast of Nanjing City. Qixia Temple which is located at the west foot of Middle of Qixia Mountain was initially constructed in 489. It had been destroyed, rebuilt and renamed time and again until Zhu Yuanzhang of Ming Dynasty named it Qixia Temple. The extant temple that rebuilt in 1908 is the biggest Buddhism temple in Nanjing.
- Qingliang Hill: It is the west end of Purple Mountain. “Zhongbu, a coiling dragon, and the stone city, a crouching tiger”. “the stone city, crouching tiger” means Qingliang Hill. It is not big, but the historical scenes can be found everywhere.
