There is a saying which goes like that: "The town is a collection of beauty of China's watertownships".
Zhou village, located in the south of Yangtze River, is famous for its unique sightseeing like bridges, rivers and dotted houses along the river banks. What is more, Zhou village has been totally changed to a hot tourism destination from an unknown small town and attracts millions of tourists at home and abroad every year. I went the water town which I long for during last National days, while when I enjoyed the unique sightseeing, I also felt some regret.
I went with myself, the ticket for entering Zhou Village is 60RMB. Though Zhou village is beautiful, yet the prices there were not that comfortable to me. I didn’t know about the prices at first and went into a small restaurant to have meal, but when I paid the bill, I got to know that how expensive those dishes were! A plate of fried Chinese cabbage cost 15RMB, a bowl of Tofu and mince clam soup cost 20 RMB, the ridiculous thing was that a bottle of beer only cost 3RMB, but there you should pay 5 times to the price in Suzhou. Maybe it was because it was the peak season, while I really felt not good after that meal.
Most of the tourists go to Zhou village are aim to appreciate the delicate bridges and tranquil rivers. Indeed that the views there are enjoyable and pleasant, while some careful visitors will also taste the smell of commerce, which fiercely contracts the quite atmosphere in Zhou village. What is more, the smell of commerce seems much stronger than the beauty of the village itself. Though the houses along the river banks are quaint and old, yet it can not cover the smell of commerce. What a pity! However, the advantage is that you can fully satisfy your hobbit of shopping, especially for those who is fond of Chinese antiques, Chinese flavor goods.
